Physical Description: Physically strong and durable from the harsh regiment his father upkept and his months of surviving in the wilderness, Leo is slim and strong, but almost frail due a distinct lack of nutrition.
Personality: Friendly, but not outgoing. Willing to take the lead, and is often more geared towards whatever goal he has in mind rather than relaxing.
Likes: MooMoo Milk, the smell of potions, Johto's warmer climate and battling. Misses his mother. he likes the sound of Pokemon calls in the wild at night more than almost anything.
Dislikes: Being a follower, his father, losing and the clueless.
Fears : His father, firearms.
Family: Captain William Jacob Riley(father), Stacey Emma Riley(formerly Johnson).
History: Born eleven years before the Red Gyarados Event, Leon Dmitri Riley was seen as the makings of a military prodigy. His father, William Riley, had served in the United States Armed Forces in the 106th Division, known colloquially as the "Fierce Arcanines." At the age of four, he was active and intelligent for his age, and showing no problems with discipline that his father had feared in his months of development.
However, as the years burned by, Leo had become more of a target of his then-retired father's wishes. William had lost his military discipline, becoming unruly and using his stature to control those around him- especially his family. It didn't take long before he started to hit his wife, and then enact drills on Leon, likely a retaliation for the boy becoming more interested in academic endeavors than the military career of good ol' Dad.
It all came with the first gunshot, right outside his window, which had shocked him to the point of wetting the bed. At eight years old, Leo had heard his first bullet, and he never wanted to hear it again. But he did. Every morning, with different, more terrifying guns to act as his alarm clock. Father did not spare the whip, either, and often beat the boy to the point of bleeding just for failing to hit a target correctly. The world of Pokemon so many children envisioned in their life could not be further away from Leon.
"Pokemon are tools, just like an M16. They're used and spent, just like any other ordnance. These new-age philosophers spewing their shit about how Pokemon deserve the right to life and all that are dead wrong. I ain't never seen a Pokemon that's worth a tenth of a good human life, and I've seen hundreds."
Leon received his first Pokemon at age nine. Then three more that year, and then two final Pokemon. All were Voltorb save one, a runt of a Magnemite he called Arkham, after his grandfather's middle name. Despite being cold and hard, he proved to be warmer and softer than his father ever could.
when he was kicked out of his home, for reasons unknown thus far, all his Pokemon followed. Only one didn't turn back on him during his journey.
And that one would follow him to the end.
Strengths: Leon is physically adept, and a quick learner. His Pokemon skills have shown thus far to be greater than his considerably poor education in capturing and battling would have suggested, and his iron-clad will makes him an aggressively determined fighter.
Weaknesses: Ignores his limits to a gross degree, often leaving him starved, broken and weary. He is also incredibly stubborn, rarely stopping when his mind is made up.
